One of the major benefits of IPL is the shortened downtime in comparison to other laser treatments. You may experience temporary redness, similar to a sunburn. Any dark spots treated may temporarily appear darker and eventually flake off. The majority of healing takes place over 24-48 hours, but the skin can feel dry for up to two weeks post treatment.
-
IPL can cause mild discomfort, often described as a tingling or warm sensation. Some areas of the face may be more sensitive than others. Post- treatment discomfort and swelling are normal, and often feels similar to a sunburn or stinging sensation. Comfort measures such as numbing agents and post-treatment cooling products are used to make the process less painful.
-
2-4 weeks prior to treatment:

If the skin is tanned or burned, the treatment will need to be rescheduled and the client will be responsible for the full cost of the procedure.
Do not use sunless tanning products such as self-tanner or spray tan machines for 2 weeks prior to your treatment.
You must wait 4 weeks after having botox and filler to receive IPL
