LASER + ADVANCED TREATMENTS
ABOUT LASER
Laser treatments at The Natural NP offer a targeted way to improve skin tone, texture, and clarity. These treatments work beneath the surface to address concerns such as pigmentation, redness, fine lines, and uneven texture.
Each session is performed with precision, delivering results that feel refined and natural.
BEGIN WITH UNDERSTANDING
Your appointment starts with a consultation to evaluate your skin, your concerns, and your goals. We determine the most appropriate laser approach based on your skin type and desired outcome.
You’ll be guided through every step, with a clear understanding of what to expect before, during, and after treatment.
PRECISION, NOT OVERCORRECTION
Laser treatments are customized in intensity and approach, ensuring effective results while maintaining the integrity of your skin.
The focus is on gradual improvement, creating clearer, smoother skin without unnecessary downtime or over-treatment.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-
Results depend on the type of laser and the concern being treated. Some improvements can be long-lasting, especially for pigmentation or vascular concerns, while others may require maintenance sessions over time to preserve results.
-
Yes—booking in advance is recommended to maintain consistent, natural-looking results.
Most treatments work best when done on a schedule, before results fully wear off. Planning ahead ensures you stay within that ideal window and don’t have to wait for availability.
Many clients choose to rebook at the time of their appointment so their results remain smooth, balanced, and predictable without interruption.
-
Sun exposure (most important)
Avoid direct sun and tanning for 2 weeks before
No tanning beds or self-tanner
Why: lasers target pigment, and extra melanin increases risk of burns or discoloration (related to hyperpigmentation)
Active skincare ingredients
Stop these about 5–7 days before (sometimes longer for strong treatments):
Retinoids (like tretinoin)
AHAs/BHAs (glycolic, salicylic acid)
Benzoyl peroxide
Harsh exfoliants
These make your skin more sensitive and prone to irritation.
Hair removal methods (for laser hair removal)
Avoid waxing, tweezing, or threading for 2–4 weeks before
Shaving is usually okay (often recommended 24 hours before)
Check with your provider if you’re taking:
Antibiotics
Acne meds like isotretinoin (often must be stopped months prior for some lasers)
Alcohol (24 hours before)
Blood thinners (if medically safe to pause—ask your doctor)
Recent chemical peels or other procedures
-
Sun exposure (again, critical)
Avoid direct sun for at least 2 weeks
Use SPF 30–50 daily
This is the #1 way to prevent hyperpigmentation and protect results.
Heat & sweating (first 24–72 hours)
No intense workouts
No saunas, steam rooms, or hot yoga
Avoid hot showers
Heat increases inflammation and irritation.
Irritating skincare (about 5–7 days)
Avoid:
Retinoids (like tretinoin)
Acids (AHA/BHA)
Vitamin C (in some cases, depending on sensitivity)
Scrubs or exfoliation
Stick to gentle cleansers and moisturizers.
Picking or scratching
Don’t pick flaking or peeling skin
This can lead to scarring or pigmentation issues.
Makeup
Usually okay after 24 hours (sometimes sooner/later depending on the laser)
Use clean brushes to avoid infection
Avoid for 1–2 weeks:
Facials
Chemical peels
Microneedling

Depends on the type of laser and settings used. A majority of our lasers have minimal to no downtime including IPL, laser hair removal and tattoo removal.
The erbium laser aids higher downtime as settings increase anywhere for 1-2 weeks.
